I did not say that boost and vac were measured at the same TIME, just at the same place. During idle and cruising, the intake plenum is under vacuum, the cylinders are sucking the air in. During WOT, the intake plenum is under pressure (boost) as the turbos force air into the cylinders. The reading is taken from the plenum. You are correct in that boost and vacuum are the direct opposite of each other, but they do happen in the same place, just not at the same time.
